Activities

Within easy reach of the house, guests can find a myriad of sightseeing opportunities including famous castles like Glamis, childhood home of the late Queen Mother and the setting for Macbeth; Blair Castle; ancestral home of the Dukes of Atholl and Scone Palace; the crowning place of Scottish kings. St Andrews has lots to offer aside from its famous golf courses and is close to the picturesque fishing villages of East Neuk, which guests love to explore. The house is also near many famous distilleries around Crieff, Aberfeldy and Pitlochry and we often send whisky lovers to Edradour, Scotland’s smallest distillery. Many of these attractions are close to each other so non-whisky lovers can split from the group and head off to explore some of our magnificent gardens like the House of Pitmuies and Cowden Japanese Garden.

Children can be kept happily entertained with visits to the Scottish Deer Centre at Cupar, Go Karting at Knockhill or exploring the outdoor maize at Cairnie. Activities can be arranged at the house like falconry & archery and there is a mass of other exciting pursuits within easy reach. Edinburgh is also fun to explore with a visit to the castle to give you an overview of the city, followed by a walking tour of the Old Town with one of our guides.

Experience

What a brilliant stay in such a lovely home. We were so close to all the fun activities we wanted and the kids didn’t complain once, which is always a good sign!
