Auchterarder House is a Scottish country house with a rich history dating back to 1832, when it was built by Scottish architect, William Burn, for Lt-Col. James Hunter. Designed for entertaining, it is a Scottish manor house that welcomes its guests with warmth and enormous comfort. We have accommodation for 20 people in 10 double ensuite bedrooms including a fully accessible ground floor bedroom & bathroom. Four of the bedrooms have sofa beds suitable for additional children.

Sumptuous interiors decorated by the owner to a very high standard and all again refurbished in 2020.

Drawing room, library, dining room, inner hall, reception hall, cinema room, gym, sauna, boot room, conservatory & snooker room.

Electric gates and security cameras offer a high level of security to the property, which is surrounded by tall trees and shrubbery, so very private.

20 acres of beautifully kept gardens and grounds, including a barbecue area.

A charming lochan (Scottish for small lake) stocked with brown trout. Guests are welcome to try their luck with a fishing rod.

History
Centuries ago, the ancient Royal Burgh of Auchterarder was strategically positioned on the road from the Royal residence at Scone, near Perth, to Stirling Castle. During the battle of Sherrifmuir, the Earl of Mar’s rebel army burned the old village to the ground and today that battleground lies just a short distance from Auchterarder House.

Andrew, can’t thank you enough for all you did to make this a really magical trip. Wilma and Bob and the rest of the staff are as amazing as we have ever seen. We have had so much fun and you could not have recommended a better house. It was close to everything we needed and we got to see many sites. The storyteller, bagpiper, archery and dancing were all amazing. However, the clan warriors last night were the perfect way to end our stay.

The house sleeps 20 people with 10 double ensuite bedrooms, including one ground floor bedroom with fully disabled bathroom. 4 of the bedrooms, which are very large, have sofa beds so can comfortably sleep 28 people in the main house if required.
Each of the bedrooms has been individually designed and is ensuite. They are large rooms full of their own character and extremely comfortable.
The bathrooms all have a bath and a shower.
