Having undergone extensive renovations in 2003 and 2020, Auchterarder House is now one of the most comfortable private family homes in Scotland available for exclusive use rentals. With a huge amount of living space, both grand and informal and 10 exceptionally spacious and comfortable ensuite bedrooms, it is the perfect Scottish Highlands accommodation to stay in. There are 20 acres of private gardens and grounds for guests to explore and enjoy during their stay.
Built in the Victorian era, Auchterarder House was designed with entertaining in mind. There is a grand entrance hall as you enter the house leading to a beautiful drawing room and a library with wonderful views over the surrounding hills. The dining room seats 20 comfortably and all these rooms have huge open fires and large windows for lots of light. This is the epitome of luxury accommodation in the Scottish Highlands with ideal entertaining space for a large house party of friends.
The cinema room is a big room with a giant screen and large comfortable chairs for watching a favourite movie. Ideal for either a family film or Children taking some time out. The conservatory and billiard room both offer extra entertaining space or areas for smaller groups to break away to and enjoy either billiards after dinner or to relax in the warmth of the conservatory during a sunny day.
The gym and sauna are very much part of the house and offer easy access for guests wishing to stay fit and work off chef’s culinary delights during their stay.
For those guests taking part in country pursuits, there is a very good sized shoot room/boot room.
With Andy, our wonderful in-house chef, guests can be assured of high quality, seasonal food cooked to perfection. All menus are arranged in advance with the host, and any dietary requirements taken fully into account.
There are options for both informal and formal dining at Auchterarder House. The kitchen is a large room with a cosy family feel to it. For smaller house parties it is possible for breakfast to be taken in the kitchen with double doors leading out to the garden, where there is a barbecue area. For larger house parties the dining room is an ideal space to accommodate everyone and although grand is also cosy and warm with an open fire.
The house sleeps 20 people with 10 double ensuite bedrooms, including one ground floor bedroom with fully disabled bathroom. Four of the larger bedrooms have sofa beds for additional children as required. There is also additional staff accommodation available in the Lodge Cottage if necessary.
Each of the bedrooms has been individually designed and is ensuite. They are large rooms full of their own character and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms all have a bath and a shower.
